North West Architecture has worked with Thomas Building over the past four years on two Department of Education projects in Karratha and Wickham, in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Thomas Building was contracted to construct a six-storey, 20 unit apartment block in Como. Construction began in January 2020 and was completed in April 2021. Considering that the building works were carried out during a very uncertain COVID year with its own special challenges, the project was handled, managed and organised exceptionally well and completed within time and cost expectations.

Alocasia Residences is the first project developed by Newleaf Homes in Australia and we must say working with the management, staff and the Site team of Thomas Building has been a very pleasant one right from the beginning to the end. The outcome is a positive one. And I can only attribute that to a very distinct Thomas Culture that permeates the whole organization from the very top with its own brand of very down to earth professionalism.

I am the Project Manager for a Mixed Development (Commercial and Residential) building at 557 Marmion Street in Booragoon. The client, Ikra Australia Pty Ltd, was from Malaysia and trusted me to run their $9M project from design to construction.

After a long tender process, Thomas Building was by far the most professional and commercially viable company out of eight companies that tendered for my project. Based on their references, variety of projects and building types, they were awarded the tender. Greg, Alan and their team were easy to deal with. Nothing was too hard to sort out and over the 1.25 years of construction, they helped guide the work smoothly whilst I only had a small team of architects and quantity surveyors. Absolutely perfect for the client as they did not want to hire too many people in Perth and if it wasn’t for Thomas Building; I would have had to bring on more personnel to ensure the quality of work and schedule were met.

I was especially happy with the overall construction costs coming down through the use of innovation; the basement earthworks were dug in a special way to reduce time and therefore, cost for my Client.

I cannot wait to commence another project with this Builder; they were impressive and performed well on all metrics of cost, schedule and quality. The Malaysian client, a major construction builder himself in Malaysia, commented the quality was much better than what he could performed in Asia.

Peter Hunt Architects developed an association with Thomas Building during their work on the complex refurbishment and extension of the Kalgoorlie Health Campus Renal Department. The project was valued at approximately $2,600,000 and was completed in October 2016.

Thomas Building has proven they have the ability to coordinate and fairly administer the programming and construction phases of this project.

Their senior staff, project managers and site supervisors always conduct themselves in a most professional manner and have always demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the construction process on the project. This made the overall building procurement process an enjoyable experience for all stakeholders.

Thomas Building completed the complex Renal Unit within an operating hospital, with restricted access, on time and budget parameters. Thus, we are confident in recommending Thomas Building to other clients.
